24-VIVOR: Hour Five

I still can’t believe that the leader of the bluetooth club is actually Jack’s brother.  That seems like a real stretch, even for this show!  Still, it’s 24, and I’ll forgive it!  I love the crossover mania too…did anyone else notice that Gray Bauer’s wife is the wheelchair bound wife of everyone’s favorite flying politician from Heroes?  I can’t wait to see what James Cromwell does next week as Jack’s father.  I can guarantee he won’t be anything like his character in BABE, but we’ll see just how bad they make him.  Anyway, on with the game…

Each week I will watch 24 and award or deduct points for the 24 characters based solely on my opinion of their actions that week.  At the end of the season, the character with the most points wins!  Nobody gets voted off the island, but there can be only one Survivor!  It’s that easy!

Here We Go!

Hour Five:  10:00 AM-11:00 AM

Jack Bauer

  • Saves the helicopter guys in 90 seconds +10
  • Turns off all his emotions, fear and uncertainty  -15
  • Tortures his bluetoothed brother +10
  • Still no Jack-sack -10
Net gain/loss: -5

current score: 70

President Wayne Palmer
  • Moves into the super bunker +10
  • Shows some emotion +5
  • Didn’t sound Presidential in his speech -5
Net gain/loss: +10
current score: 15

Thomas Lennox

  • shows some heart when talking to Wayne +5
Net gain/loss: +5
current score: -20

At the end of hour five of 24, here are the standings.  See you next week!

Jack Bauer:  70 (-5)
Chloe O’Brian:  20
President Wayne Palmer: 15 (+10)
Bill Buchanan: -15
Abu Fayed: 30
Karen Hayes: 5
Curtis Manning: -20
Ahmed: 10
Thomas Lennox: -20 (+5)
President David Palmer (deceased): 20
Agent Aaron Pierce: -20

24-Vivor

Welcome to the all-new 24-VIVOR! I stole this great idea from another blog I love, Apropos of Something, which has a great LOST-VIVOR series. Anyway, each week I will watch and award or deduct points for the 24 characters based solely on my opinion of their actions that week. At the end of the season, the character with the most points wins!  It’s that easy!

So, I know we’ve had an awesome four hour premiere (and yes, I’ve watched it all), but I’m going to slowly post this over the next few days one hour of 24 at a time. By the time we get to next Monday, we’ll be on-track again!

100 Things #9

I’m a dog guy. Can’t stand cats.

Yeah, that’s really lame for a “100 Things” post, but I’m just trying to get back in the habit of posting. This time of year is super busy, and I can’t seem to find the time to check blogs let alone post them. My bloglines was at 200+ to read, and that’s after just a couple of days. Anyway, I’ve always loved dogs, and I actually used to like cats as well. When I was in high school I found out that I am very allergic to cats. Since my brother already had one (Bandit) for quite awhile, we couldn’t get rid of it. So I went to weekly allergy shots. In the meantime, this cat pee’d pooped and puked on everything I owned. One day it ruined my favorite Rich Mullins songbook, which was very disturbing. Fast forward several years…Bandit dies of old age, and I of course volunteer to bury him.

Greatest day of my life.
